UniProtKB description:  Component of the NuA4 histone acetyltransferase complex which is involved in transcriptional activation of selected genes principally by acetylation of nucleosomal histone H4 and H2A. The NuA4 complex is also involved in DNA repair (PubMed:15485911, PubMed:15353583). Component of the NuA3 histone acetyltransferase complex. The NuA3 HAT complex has 2 functionally distinct forms. NuA3a binds H3K4me3, through the PHD finger of YNG1, and acetylates H3K14 at the promoter region of actively transcribed genes to promote transcription initiation. NuA3b binds H3K36me3 at the coding regions of actively transcribed genes, through the PWWP domain of PDP3, and coordinates transcription elongation (PubMed:17157260, PubMed:25104842).
