August is National Immunization Awareness Month

National Immunization Awareness Month (NIAM) is an annual observance held in August to highlight the importance of vaccination for people of all ages.

Vaccines are a simple and safe way to protect us from infection. They help the body learn how to build antibodies to create a defense against pathogens like viruses. Atomic structures help us understand emerging pathogens and identify targets for vaccine development. PDB-101 offers resources for exploring the molecular basis of vaccinations.
